Port Alaçatı has been built on a marshland in the south of Menemen
county in Izmir, located in the west of Karşıyaka Azmağı.
After the construction of Kutlu Aktaş dam, this azmak area was devoid
of sweet water stream and became ineligible to be an accommodation
place of heron and migratory birds and fish laying. After Port Alaçatı
Project started, reclamation of this area actualized slowly; fresh
water stream has been provided to the area.
Project’s history starts at famous beach of Cote D’azur in France.
Port Giramoud is a settlement project which had been started in 1960’s
and had broke grounds by carrying out reclamation of the swamp in a
river’s mouth and being a harbor settlement which leads up to
Mediterranean sea. Years ago, Port Giramoud architects explored the
area where Port Alaçatı located and made Port Alaçatı’s architectural
and technical consultancy.
All sides are genuine and different from each other, all buildings
have only specific characteristic. All services which are already
given and ticketed for are actualized through this purpose. It
contains in itself 18 perforated golf course, shopping centre, school
and health centre.
12 villas construction is completed in project’s undertaking.
